i have wanted to dye my hair since i was 5, now im 13.

and it's not like im going to dye it green.. just a nicer brown with some lowlights

and i have strict parents

and i for some reason feel like the luck is on my side these days.

but i need to tips on persuasion

I would suggest telling them that you wish to only make a slight color change and only wish to use a non permanent dye that will wash out in a few washes and will not damage your hair like permanant dyes will.

If you really wish to have a permanent dye then try one without ammonia, but I still suggest against it because they will all eventually damage your hairs structure. Getting it done at the salon is probaby your best option because they use permant dyes that are more like wash out color.

Tell them it's your hair and you should be able to do whatever you want with it. Also say it's not totally permanent and it will wash out after a few weeks or months.

I'd try one of two approaches.

1. Ask them to let you try a temporary hair color so they can see how it's going to look and it will wash out if they don't like it.

2. Go for highlights to start, that way you still have your base color and your technically not changing your natural color.
