I actually do it all the time b/c it's faster than a flat iron!!I usually have someone do it for me,first I lay on my back and iron it all,then I lay on my stomach and do it from that angle!!It comes out silky smooth!!

oh it is totally fine just make sure you use a low setting and i always use this alberto v05 salon stuff that i spray on just before i do this and it makes my hair so shiny and silky i love it. also put a towel under your hair and again use a low setting

My mother used to do it in the 70's lol. I wouldn't use it long term tho. I think the ceramic helps to protect your hair.

As the other answers stated, please use a low setting, and spray some sort of protector on it first.

Yes... as a matter of fact it is. When you use a clothes iron, I know you smell the burning of your hair that makes you wanna gag, so that right there is a tip off. Another tip, is your split ends, if you have them, it makes them worse, and if you don't have them, then it tends to make your hair LOOK like you have split ends. Its best to stick with a flat iron, those are specifically made for hair and its temperature won't exceed too hot for your hair, too burn it or make it look dry.

I used to help my sister straighten her hair with a clothes iron we would also use the ironing board. but her hair really started looking bad at the ends and would break and stuff. i dont think it is something you would want to do for a long period of time, but until you get a new hair straightener it would work. when i wasnt there to help her my sis would get a towel and put it under her hair (use it like you would the ironing board) but be careful your hair will get really REALLY hot and could burn you. not to mention the iron is really big and easy to burn yourself with!!!!

Yes dear, it would be extremely damaging, actually I know a girl at my school who does that, literally, she irons her hair with the type that she using to iron her clothes, and trust me, her hair is ruined! Her hair feels like straw, and it is very very rough, she cant even stop straightening it now, because once she shower, her hair is crazy frizzy and she is forced to straighten it.

Maybe you can go on ebay or amazon or something to buy a ceramic hair straightener for very cheap, if you dont have an account, you can find a person with one, to help you out with the ordering.

it depends how hot the iron is. test the iron with a piece of toliet paper or a tissue...if it turns it yellow than its too hot for your hair and could damage it if not right away, over time...just turn the setting down.
